About us

The touring Park at Carnon Downs site is situated on land that has belonged to Alison’s family since April 1956.  The farm has seen many changes over the years. Alison’s parents farmed the land up till 2013. Alison and husband Dave  were given the opportunity to apply for planning permission to turn part of the farm into an adult only(18+) and dog friendly campsite. With its peaceful location, fantastic far reaching views and nearby beautiful walks, it seemed like the ideal location for people to unwind and relax.

The local village of Carnon Downs, which is an approximately 10 minutes walk from the site provides a Spar, post office, pub, doctors, dentist, hairdressers, village hall, church and a garden centre. It’s on the bus route for Truro and Falmouth. There is easy access to the mineral tram line cycle track and many local walks. About 2 miles away in the village of Perranwell you will find the railway branch line to Truro and Falmouth.

Carnon Wollas Touring Park is an excellent base to explore the beauty of Cornwall. Wonderful walks can be enjoyed from the site which is situated close to a network of public footpaths suitable for walkers and exercising your dog.  Feock Parish Council have produced leaflets of 9 local walks, please ask for details at Reception.

Carnon Wollas Touring Park is situated within an area of low light pollution and clear nights provide a delight for stargazers.

The village of Devoran is on the northeast bank of the Carnon river ,about a 20 minute walk  from the site where you will find the quay at Devoran which once was a busy mining port. Why not enjoy a meal and a pint at the Devoran inn pub.  The disused Redruth and Chacewater railway track forms part of a coast-to-coast footpath and cycle route which runs from Devoran to Portreath.  Visit the Bike Chain at Bissoe , where you can hire bicycles to explore the route.

If you are a keen  bird watcher or just love the wildlife then this is the place to be. There are deer, buzzards, kestrels, woodpeckers to name a few that visit. So hopefully while you are here you will have the opportunity to see them, so get your cameras ready!
